In 2022, Harry took a significant step forward, progressing onto the senior circuit in the Brit Car Trophy. As with any racing adventure, it wasn't without its bumps. Mechanical problems plagued his car, threatening to derail his season. But Harry's spirit remained unbroken. With characteristic resilience, he switched to a Golf, and fortune smiled upon him. By the end of the championship, Harry stood proudly on the podium, a testament to his unwavering determination and skill.
Entering the Porsche Club
The following season was a game changer. Harry transitioned from hatchbacks to the thrilling world of rear-wheel drive cars, joining the prestigious Porsche Club. Imagine being 18 and driving a Porsche! Harry's role as an instructor at Silverstone (more on that in an upcoming post) necessitated racing in a higher class, which meant moving from road tyres to slicks—an entirely different ball game. Harry rose to the challenge, demonstrating his adaptability and racing prowess.
Conquering the Nürburgring
Fast forward to 2024, and Harry's relentless drive has led him to the NLS (Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie). This is no ordinary race series; the Nürburgring is a 13-mile circuit that tests every facet of a driver and their car, from tyres to complex engineering solutions like transmissions, suspension, and engines. The team Harry races with has a storied history of winning the German GT —no pressure, right?
For many, racing an Aston Martin around the Nürburgring is a boyhood dream. For Harry, it's reality. Competing in the GT4 class, Harry faces one of the most grueling challenges in motorsport. His ability to navigate this legendary track, known for its unforgiving nature, speaks volumes about his talent and dedication.
Eyes on the Future
